O' Christmas Tree!

It's the most wonderful time of the year!  Without a doubt, this year will be one of the most exciting holiday seasons ever!  I've been (not so) patiently waiting to drag out the decorations...and now that Thanksgiving has come and gone, I'm ready to deck the halls!
I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate Griffin's first Christmas than to give him his very own Christmas tree...a golf themed tree, of course...complete with golf ball ornaments!  He is amazed by the twinkling lights and shiny ornaments, and his face lights up with excitement every time he sees it. :)

Happy Turkey Day!

Griffin was excited to celebrate his first Thanksgiving this year!  Although he's not quite old enough to understand the meaning of the holiday, he sure was thankful that Mommy let him try some mashed potatoes!

Griffin is Five Months Old!

This big five month old is doing BIG things these days!  He recently started sitting up on his own...and this new skill is now his favorite thing to do.  I think he would sit in the floor for hours just playing with toys if I'd let him!  Lately, we laugh about him being nosey and always wanting what we have :)  He's reaching for everything in sight, and once he gets his hands on it, it goes straight to his mouth!  He's still getting a lot of "tummy time", and is doing great at rolling over in both directions.  We've started laying him on his belly and putting a toy out in front of him, and it's so funny to see him wiggle forward as he tries to reach it.  As sad as it is, I guess it's only a matter of time before he takes off crawling!  It's so much fun spending time with him at home, because it seems like every day he's changing in some way.
He continues to be a happy baby and loves flashing a big gummy grin every chance he gets :)  It may not be gummy for long, though...because he's working on cutting his first tooth!  He's doing well with teething for the most part, but you can tell when it starts to get the best of him.  He'll be putting those new teeth to good use when they come in, because he LOVES to eat!  We've tried lots of new foods this month, and are quickly finding out which ones are "keepers"!

He loves sweet potatoes, squash, carrots, pears, apples, and peaches.  He's pretty grossed out by green beans and peas, and bananas were a little too sweet for him.  Introducing solid food has been one of our favorite adventures so far, and his expressions are priceless!

We're so thankful to have been blessed with such a happy, healthy baby boy, and we're looking forward to celebrating the Holidays with him this year!

Griffin meets Barrett!

Hey!  I've got a toy just like this!

Today, Griffin and I had lunch with my friend, Mary McCullough, and her super cute little man, Barrett!  They traveled all the way from Northern KY to visit with us and let the boys meet for the very first time.  We went to the new Chuy's restaurant armed with a stroller, a car seat, two diaper bags, and all the extras... I'm sure they were nervous to see us roll in!  We had so much fun catching up and talking "all things baby"!  It's so funny how much your conversations change once these guys come into the picture :)  Griffin was intrigued by Barrett's Cheerio eating skills, and I was equally amazed by how much he'd grown since the last time I'd seen him!  He's one handsome (and tall!) little man!  Mary brought Griffin a sweet little gift, and a great cookbook full of yummy new baby food recipes!  It's so much fun watching Griffin try new foods...I can't wait to try them all out!
Mary, BAM, and Griff!

Can I have some?!
After lunch, Griffin and I went to the mall to look around and do a little Christmas shopping.  I'm sure after spending an hour in Victoria's Secret, he would've much rather gone wherever Barrett was going!!!
Really, Mom?!

My Little Sweet Tater!

Griffin tried his first taste of "real" food tonight....sweet potatoes!  I think it's safe to say he loved 'em!  More yummy foods to come, little guy! :)

Look Whooo's Trick or Treating!

Griffin celebrated his first Halloween this year dressed as the cutest owl you've ever seen!  We went Trick or Treating in Winchester and Georgetown, and visited with friends and family.  Since Griffin can't eat candy this year, the grandparents treated him with money and a big Halloween balloon to play with!

Ready to go!
