Life is grand as a 14 month old! If the giant grin on Griffin's sweet little face doesn't give it away, I don't know what will :) Here he is during an outing with Mommy today, sipping on his favorite Sonic sweet tea in his car seat...
We've been super busy soaking up the last little bit of summer over the past several weeks, so I wanted to share some of the "happenings" with a few pictures I've snapped along the way! Here we are at one of our favorite places to visit, Newport on the Levee! Griffin LOVED the new train, and even got to take a ride :)
During the week, we enjoy trips to Evan's Orchard where Griffin can play and share a yummy apple pie with Mommy!
And we love hitting up the park to play on the playground and feed the ducks!
Here he is on the golf course with Daddy, working on his putting skills. He loves trying to hit the golf ball...until it goes in the hole. When it does, he throws a fit! We're gonna have to work on that!
A week just wouldn't be complete without visiting the library! Here he is walking in and returning his books so he can pick out some new ones!
It may seem like we're always on the go, but we don't want to miss out on anything fun! When we're at home, one of Griffin's favorite things to do is play with Daddy's hats. It's one of the first things he grabs when he wakes up in the morning! And speaking of mornings...you should see his crazy bed head!
It's a crazy life, but we love it! This summer has been so much fun, and what's even better is that Griffin LOVES to be outside :) I'm looking forward to the seasons changing soon...Fall is my favorite, and I can't wait to see how Griffin reacts to things this year since he's a whole year older! Happy 14 months, Griffin! We love you!

Life As A 13 Month Old....
Griffin has undoubtedly had the busiest, best summer of his life :)...between two trips to the beach, birthday celebrations, and soaking up as much QT with friends and family as possible, it's no wonder the little man is still sleeping as I write this post! (Being totally honest here, him sleeping is the only reason I get to write this post!)
He's becoming more and more independent each day, insisting on doing things like holding his eating utensils and feeding himself...no matter how much he actually gets in his mouth :) He'swalking running like a champ, and I'm convinced that with all the climbing, rolling, and tumbling (crashing!), he'll be competing in his own Olympic event a few years down the road! He is such a happy boy, and any time he hears music playing, he raises his arms and spins around or stomps his feet back and forth to dance...and sometimes butt naked! It's so cute that I sometimes find myself turning on music just to see him dance :)
He's learning where his feet, toes, fingers, eyes, nose, mouth, belly button, and hair is...and loves to show you!
We're still having fun opening new gifts from his birthday party, and Daddy is loving the fact that Griffin's favorite toys are mostly sports related. He never goes a day without dragging around his golf clubs and hitting balls (and furniture, and walls, and Mommy!)...and is actually pretty good at swinging his bat and hitting the ball off the "T". He gets so excited and claps for himself after each swing :)
We've also put his growth chart up on the wall this month and marked the first of many notches.
I've been trying to spark his interest in books, in hopes that he will become a great reader and actually enjoy learning. Our public library has an amazing children's area with tons of activities and books for all ages. Griffin loves the different themes and characters, and of course pulling all of the books off the shelves!
And of course, a week wouldn't be complete without a visit with his BFF Kaz... whether it's a playdate at Gymboree, a walk in the "red cars", or a quick buggy chat in the grocery store, these boys will find a way to get together :)
